Due to COVID-19 unfortunately workshops for 2020 had to be cancelled.  Due to ongoing uncertainty we have no dates set for Spring & Summeer events.  We hope we will be able to continue with Sound Group Meditations and other workshops but as of Jan 2021 we can not made definate plans.  We are trying to put some of the training online but this is still a work in progress.  Meanwhile you can email info@beamsholistic.ie if you wish your name placed on a mailing list for future courses.

PREGNANCY & REFLEXOLOGY

 

Reflexology is one of the most popular complementary therapies used during maternity because it improves general well-being, energy and promotes balance. Women who receive reflexology during their pregnancy can experience shorter labour times and less need for painkillers. Reflexology can also have a positive impact on postpartum depression, anxiety and hormone levels.

Aim: For qualified reflexologists it is aimed to enhance knowledge of how reflexology can bring benefits during pregnancy and post-partum

CANCER & REFLEXOLOGY

 

Aim: For qualified reflexologists it is aimed to instil confidence and dispel fear for therapists treating persons with cancer.

Content:

  • Understand different types of cancer, stages of cancer and its treatments.
  • Exploring the physical, mental and emotional impact of cancer and its treatments
  • Exploration of benefits of reflexology in the cancer journey.Practical techniques for treating clients at different stages of treatment.
  • Adaptation of treatments for positioning and comfort of client and therapist.

DIABETES & REFLEXOLOGY

Aim: For qualified reflexologists it is aimed to instil confidence and remove fear and anxiety around treating clients who are diabetic.

Content:

  • Understand different types of diabetes and its effects.
  • Explanation of the treatments used for different types of diabetes
  • Exploration the benefits of reflexology to persons with both types.
  • Practical techniques for the promotion of peripheral circulation and nerve stimulation.
  • Cautions and contraindications to foot treatments.

REFLEXOLOGY REFRESHER DAY

Aim: For reflexologists who wish to refine their skills and learn new techniques, or for lapsed reflexologists who would like to begin using reflexology again.

Content:

  • This is a very hands-on day that has proved its efficacy through many satisfied attendees.
  • Revision of practical techniques covering each system with emphasis on participants needs.
  • Use of range of fingers to relieve pressure on thumbs.
  • Ease of applying various depths of pressure without stress to therapist
  • Self-care for therapist.
  • Repetition of new skills until participants feels confident of practice.

READING THE FEET

Aim: For reflexologists who wish to refine their skills and expand their understanding of how to approach a treatment through more in-depth assessment of the feet indicating imbalances that may exist on different levels.

Content:

  • Use of all the senses to enhance observations of the feet
  • Shapes, Texture and characteristics of the feet
  • Possible indications of lines, skin, and conditions of the feet.
  • Nails and their indications
  • Yin and Yang as represented in the Left and Right feet
  • The 5 elements as they are represented in the feet and toes.

EAR-CONING TRAINING - THERMAL AURICULAR THERAPY

Professional use Established by the Native American Indians – ear coning is carried out with beeswax cones that are specially prepared in the original way. A gentle vacuum is created by the lighting the cone which draws impurities and accumulated debris from the ears. Coning is used to help earache, prevent wax build-ups, sinus congestion, re-balancing ear pressure after bathing and flying and much more. It is ideally suited to children and persons with sensitive ears.

Aim: For qualified therapists who wish to augment their treatment menu by offering Ear Coning as a treatment to their clients.

FIRST AID TRAINING REVISION COURSE

Aim: This course is specifically geared to Therapists in a clinical setting. Training is provided by Order of Malta Training Instructors and Certificate is valid for two years.
